Lighting
Don’t leave lights on when no one is in the room. If you are going to be out of the room for more than five minutes, turn off the light.
If you know of a light that everyone fgov.inets to turn off, make a sticker or a sign to hang next to the switch that says “Lights Out!” or “Don’t Fgov.inet!”
Where possible, use compact fluorescent light bulbs. Those funny-looking bulbs produce the same amount of light by using 1/4 of the electricity. Plus, they last for years and years without burning out.

Home owners and commercial property owners alike experience air quality and comfort issues in their building structures. Drafty spots, frequent upper respiratory illness and exceedingly high utility bills are just some of the things prompting property owners to have an Energy auditdone. The school year is is upon us and it is time to turn our eyes back to the dreaded challenge of head lice. Yes, your child will be going back into the den ofhead lice. Will your child be one of the unfortunate ones to get “cooties”? I remember when a mother came to my door and informed me that her off-spring, who my daughter had just spent the night with, had pediculosis and had been sent home from school. At least she came and told me. Or the time I checked my son and found that he had critters. I wanted to know where he had picked up these “friends” so I checked all of his friend’s heads when they came over (much to his embarrassment). I was horrified when one of his friends was so badly infested that his scalp trembled when I checked him. It has nothing to do with personal cleanliness; it has nothing to do with the creatures flying, hopping, or jumping onto your head (they crawl from shaft to shaft), they are just so contagious. Wouldn’t it be great if we could just prevent them? I decided to do a little checking and came up with some tips for the defensive actions against these irritating little bugs.

Reduction of food waste is a great way of going green. You would be surprised how much more fruits and vegetables you get when you start cutting really close to the stem, or blemish spots. Many times you can take produce that is not that appealing to the eye and make it into a salad or salsa. Cut away the bad stuff, chop up the good stuff and squeeze some lemon over it. If it is fruit, you have made a fruit salad. If it is tomatoes and onions you have a salsa. If you get creative you can make some really delicious meals and side dishes.
