Global warming and climate change are issues which affect us every single one, and which we are contributors and also activists. Climate change is largely a man made effect through our disproportionate and increasing use of fossil fuel fuel.

Fossil fuels in the form of gas, oil and coal are trapped forms of carbon energy, stored deep underneath the earth?s surface. They are created from natural matter, and through thousands and millions of years of high temperature and force create fossil fuels. When we extract fossil fuels and burn them, we are reintroducing this trapped carbon into the atmosphere.

This added carbon dioxide then acts ————— a giant blanket in the environment. As the suns power enters the environment to heat the earth, the carbon then reflects this energy reverse at the earth, increasing temperatures. As we carry on to use fossil fuels, this result will continue to increase. However we have a further issue on the horizon in the conditions of food shortages, and increasing global population. Currently the solution to the global food issue is to increase large-scale farming. However large-scale farming relies of large quantities of oil to manufacture the fuel for tractors etc, and also all fertilizers. Consequently there is a catch 22 situation in terms of fuel and food production. The answer to both issues is one and the same, small scale and local fuel and food production where possible.

Learn more about Wood Pellet Storage

Local biomass raw supplies such as wood, straws and grasses from cultivation can be processed into fuel by upgrading the supplies locally into pellets. These pellets can then be used in pellet stove and boilers to provide heat, and also used in gasification system to produce electricity.

Not only will this address part of the local energy production process in terms of heat and electricity, it can also address transportation fuels. Through pellet gasification, it is achievable to feed this gas to bacteria and algae to produce liquid fuels such as ethanol. So on a local scale it is potential to produce heat, electricity and transport fuels. Costs to the customer can be kept low as transport of energy is kept to an complete minimum. Also through this sector a large number of permanent jobs would be created.

Read more about Grass Pellet Mills

So this may address the issue of energy, how does it deal with the issue of food production? Put simple from using the pellets in stoves and boilers, and gasification units to produce electricity or ethanol, has a by-product. The by-product is ash, and bio-char. These supplies have been proven to be excellent soil conditioners, even to be able to retrieve desert land, by bring life back to the soil. The uncomplicated point to take from these ideas is the answers are out there, and are proven to work, we need to do something. Not only will it tackle energy and food issues, it will bring greater prosperity to us all.

For the past 12 months, every piece of news about the motoring industry has been about how it’s been so badly effected by the recession. Almost every week you read how the motoring industry is struggling due to the fact that people aren’t going to buy a new Mercedes. However, although there are very few, there are some sections that actually doing well during the recession.

The second hand car market is one of the few parts of the motoring industry that has grown because of the recession. Prices of used cars have been going against most things in the recession, they have actually been going up. This may not sound too great at first because you will have to pay more for used cars for sale , however, if you choose to trade in your old car, you will get alot more money for it than previously.

The main reason why the second hand car market is becoming so busy is that many people are trying to save their cash, while still having a car. In an attempt to do this, they opt for buying a second hand car rather than a brand new one. One big thing that hasn’t helped the new car market recover is that recently, prices have risen because of the recession. You’d think that car manufacturers wouldn’t dare rising prices, however, because the exchange rates are poor, they are forced to raise some of their prices.

Due to the sudden rise in popularity for second hand cars, the demand for them has risen massively. As the demand for second hand motors rise, plus with the scrappage scheme resulting in more scrapped cars, the job of finding a good used car is becoming harder. Now because used car dealers are running out of cars to sell, they are offering more for trading in a car, making it sound like a better deal for car owners looking to sell.

The only downside is that despite they are getting more for their old cars, they are having to pay more when it comes to buying a diffrent second hand car. So really you are not making any more money that you normally would, but the majority of people would still want to buy a second hand car rather than buy a Nissan straight out of the factory.

It looks like the few people that will lose out because of this are the customers that don’t part exchange an old car.

If you buy a nice car like camaro, you surely want that car remains in excellent performances in a long time. You can treat the exterior of your car by doing the routine washing, or put it in the garage so it can safe from dirt, theft, or bad neighbourhood.

However, sometimes there are some circumstances where you can’t to do these things. Or you’ve done these things, but still not having the finest results.

By keeping the car in the garage, will not guarantee your car will be 100% safe from the disturbance that threatens the exterior of your car. What about the dirt if your car is stored for a long time in the garage? Of course, this dust would be difficult to clean, and even can make your car paint blurred. Or stuffs that fill your garage can fall and make scratches.

The solution for all the conditions is to use a car cover. To protect your camaro, there are many types of camaro car cover you can choose out there.

Here is the advantage using the car cover for your camaro:

You can protect your car looks with ease, without wash your car frequently.

You can leave your car in the¬ garage for a long time without worrying about any damage. Especially, if you go on vacation for couple of months.

If you do not have a garage, car cover can provide protection from UV rays which can make your car paint faded. A car cover also will help prevent the effects of children and family walking past your car and catching it with toys or grocery shopping as they squeeze past it on the drive.

You can save a lot of money. Imagine how little damage such as dents can make you spend a lot of money to fix it. You can suppress monthly fee for your car.

You can minimize the risk of car theft. Thieves are usually tempted when they see the interior of your car. Perhaps the expensive sound system can be the main temptation when they see it. They tend to chase what they can see, so it’s better to cover your car.

You can sell it back with high price. When you want to sell your car back, of course it would be nice if it’s still in excellent condition. First impression is important consideration when they buying car. Even a single dent can dramatically reduce the price of your vehicle by hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

If your car looks like new, certainly not difficult to sell it at reasonable price.

A good chevy camaro cover can protect your camaro. Anything that can damage the beauty of your car can be avoided by using a car cover. Just find a good car cover that suits to you.

Used Minivan. There are a variety of vehicles on the general market today and each type has its own beneficial attributes which make it a good purchase for certain individuals. There are two types of vehicles in particular which tend to attract some of the same types of individuals and these are SUVs and minivans. Many of the individuals that are looking into the purchase of one of these two types of vehicles are looking for a high-occupancy vehicle and are trying to determine which vehicle is best for their needs. The following paragraphs will highlight attributes of both and perhaps help individuals to better decide which vehicle is right for them.

Seating Capacity

When individuals are in the market for a high-occupancy vehicle, they look to both the SUV and minivan as potential choices. Because both of these are larger in size with regard to occupancy standards than their normal car counterparts, the size factor attracts individuals to vehicles of these types. Therefore, size is a beneficial aspect of both the SUV and minivan although the overall size and seating capacity varies among makes and models.

Family-Oriented

The term family-oriented has often been associated with the minivan in the past. Recently, this term has also been used when discussing SUVs as they can seat more individuals than regular automobiles just as the minivan can. However, if one is looking to purchase a family vehicle that can fit into other categories besides the family-oriented one, then perhaps looking into the purchase of an SUV is a good idea. Although if one wishes to purchase a minivan due to the fact that it is family oriented, then a minivan might be better suited to that type of individual.

Fuel Issues

Another factor individuals should consider when they are looking into the purchase of either an SUV or a minivan is with regard to fuel mileage. Fuel issues are high on everyone’s list these days due to the high prices of gas that have been evident lately. For those individuals who view fuel issues as a serious concern, purchasing a minivan may be the best bet. It can be stated that in the contest between SUVs and minivans with regard to fuel mileage, the minivan will win. If individuals wish to get the best fuel mileage out of their vehicle, a minivan is the better choice of the two vehicles.

Safety

Safety issues are extremely important ones with regard to automobile operation. Safety on the road is something which all individuals should consider when purchasing a vehicle. The one safety issue that has been linked with SUVs relates to the incidence of rollover accidents. Since SUVs tend to be higher than most of the other types of vehicles, they tend to be more likely than those other vehicles to roll over when taking sharp turns, changing lanes erratically, etc. On the other hand, minivans tend to have less of an incidence of rollover accidents than SUVs.

As for safety with regard to size, SUVs may lead the pack on being safer in that regard. Because they tend to be larger in size than minivans, their impending structure may be able to handle more in an accident than minivans. It is important to note however that safety standards and statistics vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Storage Capacity

SUVs and minivans are also purchased largely at times due to their storage capabilities. Both of these vehicles have large rear components where large objects and a great deal of small items can be placed for the road trip. It is hard to state which vehicle has the best storage capacity as this attribute varies amongst the different types of SUVs and minivans. Therefore, if one is looking to obtain a vehicle for storage capabilities, they really cannot go wrong with either the SUV or minivan.

Environmental Issues

Environmental issues are widely discussed and quite concerning these days. Some individuals look to issues of this nature when contemplating the purchase of a vehicle. If one is looking for the best vehicle with regard to being environmentally friendly, then the minivan may be the better choice in some instances. Since the minivan uses less fuel than most SUVs, it emits less harmful gases into the atmosphere. Therefore, it can be stated that minivans may be more environmentally sound than many of their SUV competitors.

When looking for a larger vehicle with a high seating capacity, one really cannot go wrong with either the SUV or minivan. What the decision really comes down to is personal preference and identifying specific qualities that one looks for in a vehicle. By contemplating the previously mentioned factors, one may be better able to narrow down their choices and be able to decide whether they want to purchase an SUV or a minivan.

If you want to know why you should use a pack yourself moving company such as Movex, read this story from the forums on Movingscam.com
“Over the phone I was asked for an inventory of my household items. As I was “running down the list”, the representative, stopped me and said, “Sir, why don’t you just give me the “main stuff?”…So, I basically gave him a list of my largest items, big screen T.V., couch, bed, etc., etc., and about 20 boxes I had packed myself. I explained I wouldn’t need any packing, just a load out and a move essentially…After all was said and done, he told me I would need 312 cubic feet of space for my move and quoted me a price of $1100.00.

I scheduled the move… On the day of the move…After they loaded all my things into the truck, the driver tells me I’m over my quoted cubic footage of 312 ft. by 285 cubic feet!! At a cost of $3.53 per cubic foot…”
This unscrupulous moving company raised the cost of the move by underestimating and or “loose packing,” (a style of packing which takes up many more cubic feet than is actually required by the belongings ). But now, people wishing to control their budget, can protect themselves by using a company such as Movex. Movex supplies the truck and the delivery, and the consumer controls his own packing. On the day of the move, Movex, will drive a fully equipped moving truck up to the shipper’s residence The family moving control the packing and loading, and the moving charge will be based on the cubic feet the goods, that the shipper packed, take up in the truck.

With the Movex system, a shipper won’t be at the mercy of moving help that get paid commissions for loose packing, and falsified weight slips that drive up the cost of the move.!
Better yet, a consumer can use Movex and hire a professional packing service. An honest packing service will come to the house and give the family that is moving a flat rate estimate based on the size and number of items to be packed. Like the shipper they make no money by packing loose or falsifying weights. Professional packers will pack all belongings with the care, that insures their safe arrival.

They are trained in the art of tight packing, and will save the shipper money because the goods will take up less space in the Movex Truck. Packing Service Inc., is the name to trust in the Packing Service Industry. Packing service is dedicated to fighting moving scams They provide customers with a packing and moving cost estimate They have experience packing for Movex moves, and can save shippers time and money while protecting their belongings. Packing Service Inc. only hires moving helpers with at least one year minimum experience in the packing and or moving industry. And with a growing number of affiliates, chances are Packing Service can help on both ends of most continental move.

Gas prices remain at historically high levels and the long term trend is indicating that they will stay high. If you own one or more cars, you understand that saving cash somewhere, somehow is important to helping you preserve your budget. The following are some important tips to help you manage your car expenses.

Look over your insurance. If your car is between two and three thousand dollars, consider canceling your collision coverage. The money you save could then be set aside by you toward a down payment on your next vehicle.

Keep your tires suitably inflated. Your gas mileage will fall if your tires are under inflated. Keep your tires at the suggested pressure amounts and your gas mileage should stay stable.

Do not change your oil too often. Unless you drive entirely in the city you do not need to change your oil every 3000 miles. Most cars can last up to 7500 miles between changes. You will, however, still need to change your oil twice yearly even if you drive infrequently.

Do some minor maintenance yourself. You can change your wipers, the air filter, battery, and replace a tire yourself. If you rely on others, your costs will climb considerably.

Use regular gas. If your car requires regular gas, do not indulge in premium. Your car probably will not run any better and you will have paid as much as 25 cents extra per gallon extra.

Don’t purchase an comprehensive warranty. The amount of money you pay for an extended warranty is usually more than what the warranty is worth. If you feel that a particular car model requires an extended warranty, perhaps you should consider shopping for a vehicle that is much more dependable.

You can save plenty of money by washing and waxing your car yourself. Treat yourself to the services of a car wash no more than 2-3 times per year.

Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. The manufacturer of your vehicle will know how long parts should last. Change your timing belt before it becomes a problem, your fuel filter as required, and keep an eye on your brakes, tires, and shocks. Most cars built today do not need a complete tune up for as long as one hundred thousand miles, so do not put down the $250 for a tune up before one becomes a necessity.

Use a private garage. No, you do not have to take your Chevy to the Chevrolet dealership for service. If you have a decent, local garage that knows your make and model you can typically save money by using them instead.

We aren’t likely to see gas prices below $2 per gallon again, while $3 per gallon may soon be the rule. Supply and demand cannot be controlled, but you can take the above steps to make certain that your car does not cost you more than it should.

A moped is a form of low powered motorized vehicle that has defined expectations. This will include the engine, speed, and the power input the moped has. These motorized vehicles are made to use on the same roadways as the other motorized vehicles and with the right safety procedures, it can be a lot of fun to ride.

Moped is great alternatives to an expensive car or truck. You can save a lot of money when you purchase on these items. The normal cost for one is much less than that of a regular sized bike or motor vehicle. You will not only save money on the actual purchase, you will save money on the gas and the maintenance of the moped. You will be able to ride it more often and not have to supply it with so much gasoline each time.

A moped is usually restricted to thirty to thirty-five mph. Most areas consider a moped as a limited speed motorcycle. These great items were introduced in the early 1950’s. At this time they were nothing more than a bicycle with a small motor. Since this time, they have invented many new forms of this type of transportation that has made life a lot easier for some.

There are moped that a lot of college students use to get around the campus. This will make it easier for them to get from one class to another. They can travel the campus and not have to rush around or use a lot of gas. This will be a great help for them because college life is one that can be expensive anyway.

There are also a lot of older adults that use the mopeds on a daily basis. These people will run their mopeds because they want to have their freedom and still be able to move around without worry. These mopeds are a great way for them to keep their independence.

There still has to be a certain level of safety used when riding a moped. You have to watch for other vehicles and wear the proper safety equipment. A helmet and other safety gear are defiantly needed for a fun and safe ride. You should also make sue that there are reflective devices on the mopeds as well.

There are many moped dealers in most areas. If you cannot find a good location to make your purchase, you can always shop online for one. There are so many great deals to be found and it will be well spent item for anyone to buy. It is going to be a great way for someone to get around freely and not have to worry about spending a lot of money.

Back in May this year, the UK government launched a scheme that would reward car buyers when they scrapped their old cars. Oddly enough it was called the ‘Car Scrappage Scheme’ and it gave car buyers 2000 towards a new car when they scrapped a car that’s more than 10 years old.

The cost of the scheme was 600 million. Half of the total was payed by car manufacturers and the other half was handled by the tax payers. Despite this being a large sum to invest in a scheme, it’s certainly proving successful for the market.

The total number of registered cars for July 2009 were released last week and it seems to have risen by 2.4% compared to the same month last year. Overall, 157,149 new cars were registered in July, making a 2.4% on July 2008. Out of those 157,000 odd cars, around 33,000 of them were bought as part of the scrappage scheme. This rise of 2.4%, although not alot, is actually the first rise in sales seen in the motoring industry since April last year.

Because the scheme has resulted in good news for the motoring industry, many MPs are calling for the scheme to be renewed for 2010. Currently the scheme is due to end either when the tax payers money input runs out, or in February 2010. However, as it has proved so popular with over 144,000 cars registered with the scheme since it’s start back in May, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was continued.

If the scheme is continued, car manufacturers will be hoping that the rise in cars registered will continue as more people buy into the scheme.

Despite this being good news, there are some downsides to the scrappage scheme. The first one is the the second hand market. Because of the large amount of cars being scrapped, it’s becoming harder to find a second hand car. The other sector affected is the cheap car leasing market.

Due to the large number of new cars being bought, the leasing market is missing out because people are choosing not to go for a Nissan lease when they could just scrap their old car and get more money than it’s worth off a new car. Fortunately, this problem isn’t also passed onto the van contract hire sector because the scheme doesn’t benefit van scrappage as yet.

If an emergency vehicles comes up behind you when driving, we know to let them through if we can. If you don’t let the vehicle through, you could be stopping the services from saving lives.

Normally, when an emergency vehicles comes up behind your car, it’s easy enough to avoid as you can simply pull over to clear a gap. However, if you’re sitting at a red light, what do you do? This is the problem that car driver Philip Lilley had when he sat waiting at a junction.

The two cars that were ahead of him had already moved into the junction and positioned themselves to give as much room as possible for the approaching emergency vehicles. Now Mr Lilley was required to make his decision, either sit there and hold up the Police van, or move into the junction slightly to give room.

With only a few seconds to make up his mind, he choose to move out and give some passing space. However, despite letting the Police van through the junction, he was forced to pay a fine and given points on his licence for jumping a red light. It could be questioned whether he really did ‘jump the lights’ because as he was only around a yard over the line and he had no intention of actually breaking the law.

The Driving Standards Agency said to Mr Lilley that rule 219 of the Highway Code is ‘motorists should consider oncoming emergency vehicles but comply with traffic signs’. However, Mr Lilley now thinks the same as I do. If motorists are going to be worried about getting points on their licence, they may not move out of the way for emergency vehicles, this may result in more lives being lost.

So you would cross a red light and receive a fine to let an emergency vehicle get through? Mr Lilley has always done so in the past, no anymore though.

If you’re searching for cheap car leasing deals, the place to find the best one is online. No matter whether you are looking for a car with luxury like a BMW lease , or maybe something a little cheaper like a Fiat lease , the best money saving deals can be found online.

The giant of the motoring industry, General Motors, who own brands like Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Pontiac and Buick, have reveasleda line-up of new cars. Just last month, the motoring giant recovered after 40 days of bankruptcy, within those 40 days, the government invested $50 billion, making it around 60% owned by the public.

Now that General Motors have recovered from bankruptcy, they can now look ahead and shape their brands to make more sales. At the beginning of August they announced how they are exploring new ways to sell their cars. A trial method they are running from August 11th is selling the new cars on eBay, the online auction site.

On August 11th, General Motors invited a select group of 100 consumers to join them at their proving ground in Detroit. The reason for the event was to show off the new series of cars that General Motors are releasing for various brands. After recovering from their bankruptcy troubles, they have had another look at their model ranges on all their companies and have said it needs to change.

Currently the majority of their cars are large, gas guzzling tanks that although have been popular in the past, they are not so much now. To try and full in some younger clients to their showrooms, General Motors have designed a set of smaller and more fuel efficient cars for a number of their car brands.

One of the cars that was announced is the Chevrolet Volt which is expected to become very popular. This car is said to be set for release in 2010, it’s already become very popular because of how many miles per gallon it can manage. Currently the car is estimated to be able to do 230 miles per gallon which is a huge amount and it drastically reduces the running of the car.

The other announcement that was welcomed was the new model Cadillac. The new model Cadillac, that comes with either rear wheel or 4 wheel drive, is going to be a small sport sedan. The new Cadillac was not given an expected release date, but it is expected to be smaller than their popular Cadillac CTS.

While at the event, General Motors announced a number of changes to their brands that will be taking effect within the next 3 years. Some of those plans included doubling the amount of models Buick have, going from the current 3, up to 6. We’ll have to watch out to see when they are released and what effect they will have for General Motors. Hopefully we’ll get some of these new models coming to the UK contract hire market. At this stage, the only big American car you can lease in the UK is a Chrysler lease. Alternatively, another option to you would be to opt for cheap van leasing considering they are the closest to a Chevrolet, size wise.
