Why do many people wonder why fad diets promoting quick weight loss are bad, when their publicity and testimonials indicate that they seem to get results ?
There are many sites on the internet claiming significant weight loss in just a few days, but by enlarge that type of weight loss is generally always temporary. The lost weight is usually 90% water, which will be put straight back on as soon as your body re-hydrates, which it must do if you are not going to suffer severe health problems or even die.
Many fad diets are not so obviously crash diets with outrageous claims. They could be better classified as over hyped diet plans that tend to be fashionable for a while due to major publicity or celebrity endorsement and are usually created if not wholly, certainly in part to make money for the inventor in associated product sales. At best these types of diet are based on sound nutrition plans which will help you lose weight, but generally are nothing new or revolutionary and you could probably have obtained the same or similar advice from your doctor for free. At worst they prove so difficult to follow, that most give up after a week.
A quick weight loss diet which is based on good nutritional advice, uses natural products, tastes good and increases energy levels would be well worth considering, especially if it introduces the dieter to a lifestyle change, which ensured that the lost weight would not be put back on due to re-hydration, but stayed off or slowly reduced further due to sound dietary advice.

Garcinia cambogia extract is hitting headlines throughout the western world as a natural weight loss supplement. Several studies have shown that it does help people to lose weight and although as always there are other studies that are less conclusive, it can be an effective weight loss supplement for many people.
Garcinia cambogia is the name of a small tropical fruit that grows in India and Africa. It is one of the citrus family like oranges and lemons. It is too sour to eat but the rind is used as a spice in Indian cooking. The correct name for the substance that is extracted from the fruit as a weight loss supplement is hydroxycitric acid.
Hydroxycitric acid is not a stimulant (like caffeine) or an appetite suppressant, both of which work directly on the nerve centers of the brain and can have undesired side effects, including causing food binges any time you stop taking them. Instead, HCA satisfies the body’s need for energy and improves the signaling system that the body uses to tell the brain when it has eaten enough. This response is often delayed in overweight people, causing them to continue to eat more than they need.
Garcinia cambogia extract (HCA) seems to work best in combination with chromium, which helps to regulate the body’s blood sugar levels. Chromium is a mineral that is often lacking in our diets as we get older and a chromium deficit can contribute to weight gain and possibly diabetes. However if you have diabetes already, you should see your doctor before taking any products containing chromium.

We tend to think that we are safe in our homes and familiar environments, but why is it time to think again ?
Our world has changed over the millennia, in the early years of the birth of civilisation the whole planet was free of pollution, but since the birth of modern society and the changes brought about by progress and industrialisation in almost every part of the world, our environment could now be deemed as unsafe to us all.
If asked for an honest answer, most people would say that they wanted to live for as long as they could, but it’s rare to find many people which reach the age of 120 years old or more. Before we polluted our planet, more people achieving that age would have been quite possible, but now most are happy enough if they can reach the age of 65.
Our lifestyles now have a profound effect on our bodies and because of the unhealthy lifestyles which we are becoming used to, our bodies over time acquire and build up harmful levels of chemicals not naturally found in our systems, which if not cleansed naturally, can be harmful or damaging to our health.
This build up causes imbalances in our bodies and if allowed to continue other complications may arise. You may wonder how you are able to achieve too much acid build up in your body, but the answer is quite clear.

Whether to detox or not, is up to you. Even though you are ‘healthy’ this does not mean that you don’t need to detox. Sure our body does this on a continual basis, our kidneys and livers are constantly working by cleaning out all the pollutants (smoke, caffeine, chemical-based products etc.) in our body. A detox will strengthen organs back to their optimal function.
Basically, this is done through fasting, therefore resting the organs and stimulating the liver by pushing away the toxins from the body. Nourishing the body with healthy nutrients is also done to maintain optimum health. It has been practised for centuries around the world by different cultures.
Although a lot of people want whole body detoxification, some want to have a detox on a particular organ only, such as the kidney, liver or colon. During kidney cleansing, herbal supplements and juices are used to dissolve and wash out kidney stones; particular foods are consumed in liver cleansing, causing the gall bladder and liver to remove fatty deposits and toxins out of the body. Colon cleansing on the other hand, gently flushes the colon with water providing a pathway for the release of toxins.
There are also techniques used in whole body cleansing such as:
Fasting. Water or juice fasting is applied for a period of time to lessen toxic loads in the body causing the body to heal itself and nourish inside out.
